SEE Learning in Ukraine

What school should give to children is not just academic knowledge. It is social and emotional learning that gives children a sense of a positive attitude to life and to themselves, teaches them to overcome difficulties, take responsibility, and respect their own dignity and the dignity of other people.

SEE Learning should become central in pedagogical practice. It develops critical thinking, helps to understand emotions and manage them, to achieve positive goals, to feel and show compassion for others, to establish and maintain positive relationships, and to make responsible decisions.

To love. To understand. To inspire. To help. To manage. This means leading others to success in experimental research on implementing social, emotional and ethical learning.

We live in a world that poses many different challenges. And a teacher's job is probably one of the most difficult, because teachers should prepare children for their life in a world that will be completely different one day. The SEE Learning program is a great tool that can help acquire these skills for life in the 21st century through deep awareness about and understanding of oneself, others, and the interdependence in the world.

Social, emotional and ethical learning, provided it is present in every Ukrainian school, can forever change not only Ukrainian education, but the whole society. Having "lived" through the SEE Learning paradigm, children will make these changes when they start truly defining the development of Ukraine.

Did you know that compassion is people’s innate trait? Unfortunately, it often becomes atrophied in many people as they grow up in this world … So SEE Learning is a program which helps people remember they are human and "train" this innate compassion.

SEE Learning is a universal practical system of knowledge, skills and feelings, in which children and adults learn to be in contact with themselves, with each other and with the world. It has specific knowledge on how to create or restore a sense of safety, develop empathy, become more viable and healthy, and feel part of the world and Life.

SEE Learning is a program that helps children grow into strong adults who are able to understand, first of all, themselves, their emotions and needs, be able to cope with stress, and therefore have enough resources to be kind to others. The overarching idea of the program is that all people are interconnected, and the future of the planet depends on our joint actions.

SEE Learning is a program that allows me to restrain myself in stressful situations, restore faith in humanity and good after yet other bad news, as well as stay resourceful when there is heavy workload. And I'm not the only one whom it helps.

The SEEL program teaches to be attentive, to empathize with yourself and others, to appreciate the interconnectedness of people, to worry about your nervous system, to think critically and systematically, to reflect and work in teams, to act thoughtfully, to understand your emotions and feelings. And not only apprenticeships, but also the adults who teach them - teachers. Just imagine what Ukraine will be like if these skills are developed in every school of our country! We believe that this dream can become a reality. Join in!

Social, emotional and ethical learning is what will make everyone realize their full potential and be happy. And you know, happy people make up happy humankind.

SEE Learning is not just a curriculum; it’s a philosophy and approach that are based on moral, ethical, and spiritual values. They include the axioms of our existence on this planet.

For me, SEE Learning is about self-care, self-understanding, ability to be kind with ourselves… and, as a result, having kindness to others, harmony with the world, understanding of broader context, and awareness of interconnectedness among all people. And, of course, all this means acting in accordance with this understanding!

SEE Learning is an extraordinary and endless space. Humanity today must be able to successfully foresee the outcomes of its activities, and this can be possible through better understanding of ourselves.
