Changes Through Teachers

Education is a key factor of society building, a guarantee of successful Ukraine. Peer-to-peer learning among educators is an efficient way to grow professionally. Leaders of educators’ communities play a vital role in other educators’ growth and their desire to stay in the profession, while mutual support networks are critical for teachers’ training and professional sustainability.

Teachers are the best tool for spreading the change.

Investing in one teacher we invest in thousands of people.

Theory of Change

In 2022, the EdCamp Ukraine team together with Ruslana Orlovska, a professional certified coach of the International Coaching Federation (PCC ICF), refreshed its Organizational Theory of Change.

It describes the connection between activities and results, explains the need to use certain strategies, and is aimed at changing the team’s way of thinking by focusing not only on what’s being done but on what needs to be changed. It offers an opportunity to see the progress towards reaching the goals, reveal weak links along the way, and make the processes more transparent.

Our Theory of Change is a structured scheme, a process tool, a visualization, an ordered set of hypotheses, arguments, and indicators.

It covers our mission, vision, outcomes, assessment system, strategies, and the input of EdCamp Ukraine NGO.

Implementation of the changes has been made possible thanks to support from ENGAGE Program for Enhancement of Non-Governmental Actors funded by the USAID and introduced by PACT Ukraine.

Our Six Values

img

Responsibility

We practice what we preach, and we only speak truth. We achieve as much as we can. Our work includes many small things, but all issues are equally important.

img

Collaboration

Instead of criticizing, we offer help. If we can improve it, we do so. Our working space is not for discrimination or corruption but for friendship, compassion, efficiency, and happiness. We respect personal boundaries and are not ashamed of our own emotions.

img

Openness

We share our knowledge. We shape the holistic image of our organization. We take the world as it is but strive to make it better.

img

Growth

We engage partners and experts to train the team. We do not intervene with each other’s growth. We are interested in reading and arts. We use modern tools and gadgets. We create materials for media.

img

Attention to ourselves

We value active lifestyle, healthy food, good sleep, and spare time. We have our work schedule, but the times can vary. Sometimes all you need to do is to let it go and relax.

img

Joy

We love joking, laughing, working, travelling, music, and delicacies. We value beauty, harmony, and taste. We dream and help others to dream. We allocate resources rationally. We are brave in breaking new ground and we uptake tasks that seem impossible. We have vacations together and separately. Prawns* are for food only.

* "Prawns" are our inside joke and a stop-word: it’s about a desire to improve things indefinitely, as if stuffing a prawn with another prawn, although prawns are good as they are. фаршируючи креветку креветкою, хоча креветки вже й так дуже смачні.

Our daily work routine and project activities must align with these values.

About Outcomes

What’s more, the outcomes of our work come from joy, satisfaction, and growth we receive as part of the process. We cannot envision every single outcome but can definitely make the route more enjoyable and efficient; therefore, we are process-oriented.
