A BRIEF REPORT ON THE EXPERIMENT ON SEE LEARNING
In November 2019, a five-year nationwide experiment was launched — the implementation of the Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning (SEE Learning) program in 26 general secondary education institutions across 23 regions of Ukraine. This initiative was, in particular, a response to the demand for the development of transversal skills identified by the “New Ukrainian School” reform.
Educational institutions actively embraced this new approach to social-emotional learning. As part of the experiment, they organized over 200 various community- and regional-level events, as well as approximately the same number of pedagogical councils, seminars (webinars), and training sessions on the implementation of the program. The pedagogical teams’ achievements in SEE Learning were presented annually at exhibitions of educational advancements in regional institutes of postgraduate education, at scientific and practical conferences in higher education institutions, on the official websites of the participating schools, and in their own video content.
As of June 2024, when this brief report was prepared, approximately 450 educators and 6,000 students are participating in the experiment.
